Do you sell cigarettes or vapes?
No. Since 1 July 2024 the Netherlands bans the sale of tobacco products and e-cigarettes (vapes) in supermarkets, and as a night shop we fall under the same rules. Cigarettes, tobacco and vapes are therefore not available in our shop.
What time does Avondwinkel Nijmegen open?
We open every day at 7 PM, seven days a week — including Sunday.
Until what time is Avondwinkel Nijmegen open?
We open every evening at 7 PM. Monday to Wednesday and Sunday we stay open until 1:30 AM, Thursday until 2 AM, and Friday and Saturday until 3 AM.
Where is Avondwinkel Nijmegen located?
You’ll find us at Hertogstraat 51, 6511 RW in the heart of Nijmegen, right in the city centre.
Can I pay by card at the night shop?
Yes, you can pay by debit card or contactless. We also accept credit cards, and cash is of course welcome too.
What does Avondwinkel Nijmegen sell?
Cold soft drinks, beer and wine, energy drinks, snacks and crisps, sweets and chocolate and a wide range of ice cream. We also carry pharmacy items such as paracetamol, condoms, toothpaste and toilet paper, plus handy items like bike lights, batteries and charging cables. And of course those last-minute grocery items.
Is the night shop open every day?
Yes, we’re open seven evenings a week, including Sunday. Hours may differ on public holidays — feel free to call us on 024 679 1091 or send a WhatsApp message.
Do you have paracetamol, condoms or other pharmacy items?
Yes. For those late-night emergencies we stock paracetamol and ibuprofen, condoms and lubricant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair gel and toilet paper. You’ll also find bike lights, batteries and charging cables on our shelves.
Do you also sell alcohol in the evening and at night?
Yes. We’re a night shop and an off-licence, so even late in the evening you can pick up beer, wine and spirits — as long as the shop is open. Under 18? No alcohol; we ask for ID.
Do you deliver?
No, we don’t deliver — you pick up your items in the shop. We’re right in the centre of Nijmegen, so you’ll be here in no time.
How far is the night shop from Nijmegen Central Station?
About a fifteen-minute walk (roughly 1.2 km). By bike you’ll be at our door on Hertogstraat 51 within 5 minutes. We’re right in the centre, around the corner from the Molenstraat and the nightlife area.
